Checkdesk Training Workshops: Updates from Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon

We're very excited to be able to offer an update on our ongoing regional training workshops as part of the Checkdesk project. Workshops focus on citizen journalism skills, media literacy, media analysis and fact checking techniques using the Checkdesk platform. For more about Checkdesk, read here. Check out what our partners have been doing in each country!

Egypt - Welad El Balad Media Services

Welad El Balad have led a comprehensive series of training workshops on in Alexandria, Mansoura, Marsa Matruh, Assiut and Qena, and made an amazing short documentary [Arabic only at the moment] that shows what they've been up to.

Palestine - Ma'an Network

In Palestine, our partner Ma'an has led workshops in Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem and two workshops in Gaza City, which required a great deal of logistical support, dedication and patience. Here's a news report they made [Arabic] on the first training session in Nablus.

Lebanon - Annahar & SMEX

Our Lebanese partners, Annahar and SMEX, have been working together to host training workshops at the Annahar offices in Beirut, for people across Lebanon. Being cutting edge social media buffs, they've Tweeted enthusiastically about their workshops, and are the first partner to use Vine to show what they've been working on!
