Meedan is partnering with Qatar Foundation International to create a sustainable community for sharing educational resources online in Arabic. The Open Educational Resources model provides educators a way to share free, high quality resources online, including materials like electronic textbooks, lesson plans, recorded lectures and guides to using new media in the classroom. Meedan is consulting with innovators like Vijay Kumar at MIT and OER developer and educator Mike Smith to translate the OER model and materials into Arabic.

Meedan envisions a self-sustaining and adaptive global Open Educational Resources community, which enables multilingual online educational collaborations between teachers, students, classrooms, and schools.
