The Ekta consortium was first assembled in November-December 2018 to fact-check misinformation related to the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections. It was reconstituted to collect, analyze and fact-check misinformation related to the 2021 Legislative Assembly elections in India, identifying misinformation trends and insights in the country and working to promote media an information literacy.
