Grounding our work in the Larger World
Making information accessible for all.

Making information accessible for all.
Across the Larger World, we partner with independent media and civil society organizations that promote democratic participation, protect public health, and defend human rights.
Since 2006, Meedan has grown into a global organization working to make information more reliable and accessible worldwide, with a keen focus on serving communities in the Larger World. Our team has partnered with more than 170 organizations across 45 countries to support information exchange and mobilization.
Meedan’s Independent Media Response Fund provides grant awards, training, and networking opportunities to small and medium-sized media groups and civil society organizations throughout the Larger World. The fund’s focus changes yearly to ensure we’re addressing a variety of key concerns.
These numbers are current as of May 2025, and they include both funds distributed during our regular application cycles and those disbursed in response to urgent crises.

We collaborate with more than 100 independent newsrooms and civil society organizations from across the Larger World to maximize the reach of our vision for a more equitable internet. Here are just a few of those partners.
